Guided Chaos - "The Art of the Possible"
Oct 03, 2017
I'm often asked by folks when introduced to the art of Guided Chaos. With all of the wide ranging systems of fighting out there what is is about Guided Chaos that makes it any different than any other martial art?
Fair question, after all unless you are well steeped in the martial arts from an outsiders perspective they all appear the same. I provide the following explanation because I think it succinctly sums up what in my mind makes Guided Chaos the most unique fighting system ever devised.
The main thing about the system created by Grandmaster John C. Perkins is that it focuses on what he calls "Universal Movement". Meaning that the human body is the human body and when properly developed you are able to posses a wider range of freedom in your movement for fighting. This is the main thing we try to develop in people.
The other thing is that we are all different so the key is to teach people through "Principles" of body movement dynamics that apply to all human beings, rather than just a series of techniques, so that they learn to fight within the body they have.
As we say a real fight is utter chaos and anything goes so the question is, why would you want to limit your ability to move freely in a real confrontation?
As one student so aptly put it, "Guided Chaos is the Art of the Possible"...
